March 21, 2010--FAST FOCUS #5--WHOLEHEARTEDNESS

In contrast with previous readings on corporate fasts which were called by leaders of the faith community, today's reading from Joel 2:12-29 contains the call for a fast from God Himself, along with a series of promises that will come to those who "turn to me with all your heart, with fastings, mournings and weepings."
The message lists these promises and asks: What would keep us from such WHOLEHEARTEDNESS in our commitment to our Father?

May 18, 2008--WHEN YOU FAST

We get back to the series on the Sermon on the Mount and focus on Jesus' teaching on Fasting in Matthew 6:16-18.

Jesus begins this teaching with the words "WHEN you fast"...he assumes that fasting is part of his disciples' lifestyle.

This message includes an overview of fasting in the Old & New Testaments and some suggestions on how we could also make fasting part of our lifestyle today.

An audio file of the message is available at http://www.mediafire.com/?dftiwdqjybl
